Flies are gross. They’re annoying. And they are difficult to get rid of.
They have the worst buzzing sound when you’re trying to sleep. They also reproduce exponentially, leaving even more pests to worry about.
Sound familiar to something else? 😉
Similarly, anxiety breeds more racing, intrusive thoughts, and persistently buzzes at the most irritating moments.
I’ve heard it said that “Bees don’t waste their time explaining to flies that honey is better than poop.”
And it’s true…anxiety will feed off of doubt and uncertainty. Instead of focusing on the beautiful things in life, anxiety attempts to prepare for everything that could possibly go wrong.
That’s where staying in the moment–focusing on the honey, if you will–comes into play.
You could look at it this way…squash that anxiety by practicing mindfulness! Keep your thoughts in the moment.

Totally fair to look at it like this. Focusing on the present is the remedy to anxiety.
But I’m here to go beyond that, and try to give flies…I mean, anxiety, a better reputation.
Flies want to survive. Anxiety wants you to survive. It’s actually kinda innocent. Anxiety’s not something to fear…it’s kinda harmless, like a fly.
Time to let the anxiety move on…time to let it FLY!
Haha…did I take it too far?
Lol.
Okay, I know it’s a little corny, but it does make sense, doesn’t it?
Make peace with your anxiety. Preparing is responsible. So is living in joy.
Let the fly buzz. And keep your focus on the now. Both can coexist.
You’ve got so much more going on than worry.
