Feel at war with yourself?

Do your feelings sometimes seem like obstacles, annoyances, or even an active battle?
I’ve been there! And it can feel like a very lonely place.
What if I were to tell you something really cool…really freeing, though?
Feelings are the way we perceive the world. It shouldn’t be us fighting against our everyday ups and downs. Feelings are something you walk through, not actively ignore by sprinting away.
That’s why, as much as a therapeutic cliché as it may seem, “feeling your feelings,” aka processing them, giving them time to breathe…is important. Sit with the uncomfortable stuff.
Let it simmer, only for as long as you need. Then TRUST yourself. You’ll know what to do next sometime, because you allowed yourself the proper time to heal.
Feelings are often confusing and sometimes misleading. But that’s exactly why pushing things like anxiety, grief, and pain is not helpful. Often, however, I’ve found that a message is being conveyed to your conscious self.
So do try your best to listen.
Being patient with your feelings gives you time to communicate, in a sense, with your inner self.
Thoughts are not facts. Neither are feelings. But sometimes, we judge ourselves simply because we get impatient or have yet to understand the source of those feelings.
It’s Okay. Your mind is not a battlefield. It’s a Jungle Jim…full of adventures, obstacles, and fun! You can get through it!
